It has been 3 months since I had Zoe. Wow, 3 months. 3 months since I last worked, since Matthew and I were just a couple, and at least three months since I could sleep to my hearts content.
It’s been a crazy three months, that’s for sure. First was my attempts at having a natural birth – that didn’t happen – so surgery was it. Then it was welcoming this tiny baby into the world and trying to figure out how to breastfeed. Talk about pain!! Then simultaneously I dealt with a sick child (jaundice) and my own sickness (post partum depression). PPD was probably the scariest thing ever – how does a person, who loves all children, feel so ambilvalent towards her own child? It was most certainly scary. Thankfully I had some great family and friends who helped me through those first few weeks…and months.
And now that I feel comfortable with myself as a mom I am going back to work. Now I have to figure out how to be a worker and a mom – I think I can do it. We’ve been fortunate to find a great babysitter for Zoe – I’m so excited for Zoe to grow up with Leyna (our babysitters daughter) in her life…a pseudo big sister
But with work stuff I’ll have to relearn some things – mainly how to be speedy at my work, but I’ll also have the opportunity to change things too.
All in all I’m pretty excited to go back to work, yet sad to not have those special moments with Zoe. However, I am so happy she is in my life – I’m one very blessed mother

Yes, I realize it is May but I have finally decided on my goals for this year. I think in January the only goal I could see was to have a healthy baby. Since that’s been achieved I can think of other things!
So my goals for this year:
1) exercise regularly – my plan is to workout in the am after my 6ish zoe feeding, on the eliptical in the basement. As motivation I’ll get a tv series from netflix and only watch it when I exercise. I plan to start with numbers but will take suggestions for others.
2) drop 20 lbs of my pre-pregnancy weight – which would mean reaching the weight of 180 lbs. I think it’s a realistic goal.
3) do a walk (i guess a 1k but maybe a 5k – I don’t know the difference) and do it with my family (sorry matthew!)
I think that’s plenty for now – I want to put in things like ’scrapbook/knit/crochet more’ but really that’s easy for me to do – the challenge is to get myself into a habit of exercising.
I would like to blog more – that’s gonna be a mini goal
Night all!

And why am I updating it at 6:30 am?!?
Well because swine flu has kicked my ass – ugh. All the precautions; hand sanitizer like a whoa, not touching my face, the h1n1 shot 1 week ago… and I still got it. Thankfully the doc’s think it’s somewhat weakened because I don’t have a fever, aches, or the chills. I came down with a cough on Tuesday, saw my family doc on Wednesday who said I had bronchitis (probably true), had a HORRIBLE night of not breathing and finally saw my Allergist on Thursday. She didn’t think it was h1n1 but took the extra precaution to have me get swabbed for Influenza A while we were doing my breathing treatments. That swab came back positive for Influenza A and 99% of positives are also positive for h1n1, so instead of doing a test that would take weeks to know, I took one that I knew in an hour. So the thing they want to get under control is the breathing, because if I can’t breathe, baby can’t breathe. I’m on Tamiflu, an antibiotic, and a nebulizer to get the breathing meds to my lungs. They also gave me a shot of a steroid. It seems to be working – my cough is still here, but not as tight and it has definitely loosened up my chest. But as we can see, I’m not sleeping at 6AM
I do have to say, I slept fairly well till about 5 am and then I got up a few times due to coughing and now I decided to play on the computer until my cough drop is gone. Luckily I’m on the couch so I’m not bothering Matthew.
Can I say how lucky I am to have Matthew? He was a sweetheart and came home yesterday to take care of me – I was a mess, crying and freaking out – all before I knew I had h1n1. He took me to the doc, drove me around to get my swabbing, picked up my meds and is in general, making me feel better
Yep I’m one lucky lady to have him
And still kicking me, literally as I type, is Zoe Marie
That’s right we’re having a girl and we chose the name Zoe Marie
I’m definitely worried about this flu stuff with her but I have a great doc, and an even better Mother-in-Law who are watching out for her. This past week to two weeks I can really feel her kicking away. It’s kinda funny – like I’ll be driving to work and she’ll start kicking my upper belly in the same spot at random intervals. Kick, pause, pause, kick, kick, pause, pause, pause, kick, pause, kick, pause. For about 20 kicks she did this! It made me chuckle, and the kicks were hard enough that I could feel them outside my belly
Oh and yesterday I’m pretty sure she head-butted, or butt-butted me, lol, I had my hand on my belly and felt a HUGE bump that couldn’t have been a hand or a foot! I think with all of her movement it’s really made me excited to do the 3D/4D ultrasound with my family in Florida
We’ll be able to see her again!
Alright, time to go do another breathing treatment so this coughing will stop and I can get some more sleep for a few hours. Promise, I’ll try and update more often!

Pictures of some of the baby gifts I’ve received so far! They are tooo cute!
If you click on the pics they’ll tell you information about whom the gift is from and what the item is, if you’re unsure!
Oh and in case you hadn’t noticed I moved my blog to starbarmonkey – our family website. So the new address is librariananna.starbarmonkey.com – same as before just change the middle word
Life is good otherwise, got 3 shots today (Flu, Allergy, Allergy) and get to have an MRI next week! Joy Joy! Everything with the baby is fine, it’s just the stupid ankle – they want to make sure nothing else is wrong and then they’ll decide if we need to do more serious stuff like cortisone shots or what have you. For now we’ve stopped PT appointments but I still have to do the exercises at home. That’ll be fun…
That’s all folks!

I have been terrible about updating my blog, for a few reasons that I’ll explain later.
For those of you that don’t know – I’m pregnant!! I’m week 16 and feeling pretty good
Part of the reason I haven’t felt compelled to update was that we had been trying for quite a while and I had been hopeful it would be more immediate, unfortunately that wasn’t the case and we had to try for about 8 months. I had happy things happening in my life but what I wanted to blog about wasn’t exactly public knowledge. But now I’m feeling pretty good and excited and things are going well for me so I can’t complain
So I had my doc appt today and got to hear the babies heartbeat through the doppler! I’m hoping to attach it to this post so you can hear it! The baby is healthy and in a few weeks we’ll be able to determine the sex! I can’t wait!!! I have no idea what it will be, so it’s been hard to make any gifts for the baby or even think of names. If you listen to the heartbeat you’ll hear the doc trying to find the heartbeat, but you can tell when it’s the babies – it’s louder and more consistent and it’s the last half of the sound recording.
Baby’s Heart Beat
Things otherwise are going pretty well for me – work is busy busy busy but I like that and I’ve been doing some presentations for Baby Sign Language (I’m sooo excited that I can finally implement that into MY child’s life). I’ve been doing things with family and friends almost every weekend! And this weekend I get to look forward to seeing Alyson, Landon and Pat!
Okay, that’s it for tonight! Night all!

So I know…it’s been a while…I’m sorry – it’s not you, it’s me. Really. Of course I still love you!
Sigh – I have been sooo busy that I haven’t had a chance to breath, let alone update – but I’m taking a few valuable minutes to do that, just for you.
So first things first: If you want to keep up with me, informally of course, follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/librarianAnna
I update that thing all the time, or anytime I go to the bathroom.
Which then updates my Facebook page – so find me there too…and on facebook I take random pictures and put them on there immediately (via phone – I love it!)
Now for the life – recent hurrah’s:
-I got onto CSC!!! Wooohooooo! It’s a two year commitment and I’m looking forward to it!
-Matthew celebrated his birthday and let me tell you – he was SHOCKED by his gift. He had NO idea that I did this, nor did he pick up on any of the lies. I made Matthew a Boudoir Album! I went through Varland Photography to do this and it was AWESOME! As soon as the pictures are online I’ll put a link here. But he really had NO CLUE that I did this and I thought for sure that he had an inkling..nope, nothing, nada. He was just so stunned he couldn’t talk. And he really like the pictures
I am awesome
.
-I got to see my sistah!
and now I have to go…I’ll try and update soon.

Just a quick update to tell everyone that we finally finished painting and decorating our bathrooms! Woohooo! We only have one more full bathroom to go and then we’ll be done with those. We’re starting small with the painting business so don’t be too harsh of a critic!!
I’m putting in links to matthew’s blog about the updates b/c he did a great job showing the pictures and such!

So in reference to my title of this post, the saying is from the sign of a business that I pass EVERYDAY on my way to work…and this sign is the BANE of my existance. I hate the fact that it says “Come Get You Some” in reference to money….oh vey! So I had to share my disdain with everyone else.
And Yes, I am Alive and well (for the most part) I just haven’t had much time at home to update my blog, let alone breath. But I promise I’ll make it up to you!
Recent News: Life is good -Work is good. That’s the important stuff. At work I’ve been kicking butt and taken numbers
really I was just informed that I was going to be nominated for Rookie of the Year in the system…unfortunately my paperwork did not get in on time so I’m not actually in the pool – but that’s okay, It’s still an honor to be (theoretically) nominated
I’ve been having lots of programs at the library that have been really successful and I really enjoy it out here!
Home life is good too. Matthew and I are really happy
He’s been playing lots of hockey and invariably getting hurt but he’s happy so I’m (most of the times) happy. He’s been playing really well even though he’s been sick. Work for him has been going well as well so that’s excellent.
However, on the health front I’ve not been doing so well. I’ve been so miserable with sinus infection after sinus infection after sinus infection! I finally had CT Scans done and the outcome is that I have to get better or else I have to have surgery. The medicine plan the ENT has me on seems be working but I am starting to feel sick again, like my throat is raw and I don’t know if its sickness or if it’s the medicine…So we’ll see in January when I check back in with the ENT.
Other interesting things that I have been doing:
I have been Knitting up a STORM and crochetting some too
Let me see if I can get some pictures uploaded….
Ahhh poop! Matthew has those pictures that I wanted to upload! MATTHEW!!! lol
So I’ll tell you about them and then upload them
For Turkey-christmas with the Coleman side of the family I was making some holiday gifts. For Katie I gave her my first pair of socks I ever knitted and two sets of fingerless gloves. For Mom I gave her a pink and white beach bag and have to make her another pair of fingerless gloves. For Mandy she got a hat and scarf and I have to make her a pair of fingerless gloves. For all my coworkers I made them their own fingerless gloves. Can you guess the theme here???? I figured out how to make them and I LOVE TO MAKE THEM! I also taught myself how to make some cute beaded stitch markers
Now I still have a christmas to go…but I don’t think I’ll be making anything for them this year….I might have to try and spread the gifts out over the year so that I can give them handmade gifts at birthdays!
So with (all) that being said I should probably get back to my lunch and work. Hope everyone is well and that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Hanukkah!
OH and I’ll try and upload a picture of Vlad, my gingerbread Chippendale – he’s sooo cute
!!

So it’s been a while since I’ve updated and I thought I’d let you all know about my 25th birthday (wow I’m old). One of the first gifts I got was from my MIL – I got an air purifier! I’m hoping that will help me sleepbetter at night. Then my next gift was from Katie and it was a book…one I DIDN’T want to read “Twilight”by Stephenie Meyer. I don’t like Vampire books and the like so I told her I wouldn’t read it, but she decided that as my birthday gift I had to read it. And I did and I really enjoyed it, so much so thatI went out and got the second book of the series and read it almost instantly (I had to sleep for a few hours, but had it completed before returning to work) Now I’m waiting to borrow book 3 and 4 from a co-worker so I can finish this tale.
The best gifts I’ve recieved so far come from Matthew (and I’m still waiting in the dark for my third gift from him). The first gift he gave me was a Crochet book…but not just any crochet book – he took the time to browse throughbooks and see which he thought would best suit my tastes. That was the most thoughtful and touching thing. Then the next gift (and all my crafty friends are way jealous) he signed me up for Webs (www.yarn.com) Skein of the Month club!! During the 3rd week of the month I’ll receive a skein of yarn and a pattern! Woooot! So when I know what the third gift is I’ll have to let you know if it tops this one or not!
I also recieved gifts from other family and friend members and am also waiting to see what my parents are sending me
I’m excited!
So that’s all – I’m 25 now and pretty freakin happy with my life, my family, my friends, and most importantly my husband. I’ll try and update sooner rather then later!
Ciao, Anna
